Slightly effervescent and lovely. — a month ago
2020. I usually don’t get to the airport early enough to see what’s in the cruvinets behind the terminal bar, but I was really impressed by the “not your usual” selection. Used their app to order an Etna Bianco I hadn’t had before, and was surprised when my drink was delivered. Rosso from the same producer, so I understand the mixup, and very glad because it’s delicious! Good start to my Holiday vacation. — 4 months ago
Crunchy cranberry, black tea tannins, and zippy acid. Basalt comes through. — 6 days ago
Pale straw yellow color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and herb spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple with slight citrus notes and herb spice. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with salty mineral character. Very Nice! — 2 months ago
Anise and fresh leather on the nose. Chalky dry tannins on the front of the palate that lack any expression of fruit (!). If you’ve been following my reviews, you may have observed I enjoy minerally taste profiles, so, this doesn’t offend me in the least— but it is very surprising to taste it on the front of the palate (because I didn’t think I had taste receptors for that sort of thing on the front of the tongue). To be doubly confusing the fruit appears briefly on the mid palate as candied cherries. But before it can become offensively saccharine, the fruit is quickly replaced by burnt umber dry notes—along with a cool minty substrate—that yield a very loooong finish.
I just realized that I sucked down half a bottle while trying to evaluate this wine. I initially gave it a 9.0 rating but I’m going up it to 9.2, because this wine is intriguing and it kept my interest.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over a 90 minute period. No formal notes. Slightly deeper in color than the Benanti enjoyed before and there’s a bit more depth in general when comparing the two. Ripe strawberries and cherries. Savory. Good structure. Drinking well now but this has the stuffing to mature gracefully over the next decade. — 5 months ago
