Seriously well made California Chardonnay. Yes, it’s big, it’s oaky, it’s lush. But god damn it, it’s good! This is the Chardonnay somms guzzle in the back while recommending some funky natural wine at the table. Vanilla, butterscotch, lemon curd. But it still has good acidity to balance out the richness, akin to something from the Côte d’Or. I’m willing to bet it ages really, really well. — a month ago
Hillside Select is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 32 months in 100% new 60-gallon French oak barrels. Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of red/black fruits, with hints of cedar, floral, oak, herbs & spice. On the palate flavors of concentrated ripe blackberry, cherry and raspberry preserves, pepper spice, leather and earthy cacao. Fine savory tannins, well balanced, long finish, great structure ending with fruit, spice, oak and earthy mineral character. Outstanding! — 16 days ago
Had with pasta with red sauce. Beautiful pairing full of flavor. Love this wine. — 13 days ago
хорошее сортовое каберне с нотками третичного развития. ягоды яркие, танины мягкие, пьется прекрасно — a month ago
Pretty nice. A little tannic and tart so it does come across a little out of balance. Overall a decent bottle. — 7 days ago
This is the Select Blocks Organic SB. On the nose - big wallop of creamy gooseberry fool, guava with a little touch of the sea. In the mouth - a bit subtler than some NZ SBs with a bit of peach stone bitterness to balance the acidity and fruit sweetness- giving a more food-friendly finish than flavour initially suggests. — a month ago
