Decanted for 6 hrs. Tawny color, translucent. Great Barolo nose. Notes of dark fruit, rose petals, some anise and some dry brush. Nice balance of aged fruit next to a solid structure. Great finish. Great with food.

Could see the quality of the vineyard. A bit disjointed, lovely heart of fruit, but, perhaps a bit ripe, plenty of complexity and layers. Grape tannin was fine and beautiful. Finish marred by a bit of heavy handed slightly coarse Eastern European oak. Solid wine, needs some refinement in both vineyard and winery. Being picky!!

Disappointing. Consistent with most Contermo Barolos that I've had since 08 which are overly ripe showing little typicity. Not sure if it's a matter of ripeness or something else - V.A.?
