Barolo Nebbiolo

Popped and poured. The 2018 pours a light garnet with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, developing with a pretty bouquet of raspberry, strawberry, red flowers, a little tar, some herbs, some baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acids. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. Like many 2018’s, this shows the lighter, more aromatic side of Nebbiolo however, I find it no less enjoyable. This one simply lacks the power many come to expect. Drink now through 2038.

A monster. Completely different than their langhe. Young still but approachable.

Dec 12th, 2021Dark garnet with just the slightest tinge of brick on the rim. The nose was toasty with white truffles, rose petals, licorice and cigar smoke. The tannins were Uber fine with a silky texture. In the mouth ripe raspberries mingle with cherries, tobacco, coffee and dried herbs. The finish is long and hints of tar and crushed stone. A beautiful wine with another 10+ years of aging potential.

Total masculine approach. Pretty violet and cherry nose into a rich yet soft mouthfeel of truffle and light tar. Still very young as no bricking on the wine, tannins are firm and acid still high. Pretty wine that can age well 10-20 years

Needs WAY more time. All of the ones I’m posting do tbh.

Lots of tannins. High acidity too. Green. Medium bodied. Young. I think this gets better 5 years out.

Dusty roses, dusty tannins. I was at a wine bar in Hoboken where the workers didn’t seem very interested in wine. Worked to my benefit though because their pours were HUGE. I ended up with what was basically a double pour of this. Works for me!
