1/21/21 Dinner with Alan. Had scallops, lemon orzo, Caesar salad. Yummy wine to help the prep process! — a month ago
Intense, smoky aroma. Tastes of plum, black cherry, leather. Long lingering finish of graphite and mild tannins. I wanted to learn about Italian wines and ended up buying one that is essentially a Bordeaux blend! I mean it’s really good but I just wanted a lesson in some thing else. I foolishly opened it to drink with pizza. 😩 — a month ago
Shy and closed aromas at first, but shortly opens up with some aeration with an enchanting, vivid and highly complex approach. Dried strawberries, red cherries, mint, blood orange, bitter orange and a controlled volatile - incense like lift. With a steely minerality and an earthy canvas
A high acidity and pronounced tannins which grasps the gum upon entry before spreading across the cheeks with drying texture that surrounds and is balanced by good fruit concentration with a strong and evolving mid palate through a complete finish that is closing with a sweet red fruit profile despite being a bit tart and rowdy upon entry. Day 2 and it’s taken on a more rounded and welcoming profile. — a month ago
Cola, plums, cranberries, and tobacco, with a bit of cherry - just what you would expect. Decanted for about 6 hours. Probably past it’s prime though. — 2 months ago
