Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2012 “Hallberg Vineyard - Dijon Clones” pours a deep, slightly cloudy, garnet color with a translucent core, moving out to a watery rim. Medium+ viscosity with very light staining of the tears and signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with ripe and dried black and red fruits, damp earth, dried flowers and sweet baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. The fruit is the center of attention here and it’s big, a bit out of shape and at this point, nearly popping buttons. Drink now while the structure is keeping it together.

Aug 30th, 2024WOTN for most of the group. So much stuffing. Way bigger than my preference but screw my preference. Wild berries, red currant, stone fruit, sandalwood, clove. Non-stop finish. Probably one of my favorite wines I’ve tasted this year.
