A lovely biodynamic BDX that is maybe a bit simple for the price ($40 or so?) but does offer an elegant and food-friendly package without being weighed down by oak and tannin. Nice fresh dark fruits and florals with gentle menthol, tobacco, rich potting soil and cedar. It is light and ethereal in the mouth. Tannins are actually fully resolved for me at this point, and it’s not super acid-driven, so I’m not sure I see this progressing much for my palate. This would be a repeat buy for me at $20-25 but at this price I’m hoping for something a bit more special. Need to seek out more naturally-made BDX! Recommendations?

Inky dense cassis flavors that just continue on but it’s not ready to show more layers. The graphite suggests it, and so does the natural wine press, but it’s still unidimensional another year on.

Meh. The more I drink delightful, reasonably priced reds from more northern/higher elevation regions like etna, the canaries, northwest Spain, the less tolerant I am of Bordeaux, even when biodynamic and “traditional” in style. It still costs twice as much and is half as fun to drink. This may be super young but F having to lay something down for 10 years for it to start being enjoyable. Nice aromas which did not deepen in a major way after the first 10 minutes. aggressive tannins. I’m not sure there is “bargain Bordeaux”

The first impression is of minerality with black currents, blackberries, forest floor and sweet spice firmly seated beneath a fine layer of chalkboard dust. The 2012 Clos du Jaugueyron Haut-Medoc is slightly reserved, trussed in polished, slightly chalky tannins that give way to sweet black fruit at the core. There is perhaps a touch of black tea on the finish and subtle greenness, albeit slight. All in all a pleasant bottle, the fact that the vineyards are Biodynamically farmed and Demeter certified is a plus.

Med + concentration but just see through. Ruby core with brick rim. Med intensity and med + complexity on the nose showing mostly classic #leftbank characteristics. However there was a strong paprika aroma that reminded me of #chile #carmenere The fruit was ripe and black and red. Fine structure on the palate with med + tannin and med acid and abv. The notes mimicked what I found on the nose. A supple medium finish. This was missing concentration but for the price this is a nice #bordeaux #hautmedoc #closdujaugueyron #cabernetsauvignon #merlot #petitverdot #ctbucklinwine

Bell pepper, leather, relaxed tannins - 12 tastes like it's got more age on it, but with the perfect amount of fruit. All fermented in cement, and retains that freshness.
