Enjoyed a 12-hour pit roasted pig BBQ with friends and #SaxumVineyards#SaxumVineyards#SaxumVineyards was the star. The 2009 #Saxum Broken Stones #Syrah blend was fantastic! Open at least 6 hours prior to tasting to soften. This dark beauty is juicy, deep and weighty. Wonderful minerality, earthiness with spice, blackberry and licorice. Super intense but oh so worth the wait! — 11 years ago
Still a bit young but developing nicely. Better than the last one cracked open last year. Decanted for about 45 min, which was fine. The tannins and acid are finally integrating together. Nice vanilla and oak on the nose along with a host of blackberry and pepper notes. The thing I love about #saxum fruit is that it's truly focused and multidimensional. Plush mouthfeel, but not overbearing, blankets you without any hint of heat. Rich, bold black fruit on the front pallate with medium depth in mid pallate finishing off with a lingering razor focused back pallate. — 9 years ago
After couple of hours decanted, this gorgeous bottle of #Saxum Bone Rock's aroma wafted around the counter: Blackberry, cassis, smoke, dark berries, licorice and a sweetness that only powerful #Syrahs offer. So complex. Love what comes out of the James Berry Vineyard. #SaxumVineyards — 11 years ago
Last year the 2010 #Authenticity was out WOTY and The 2011 is an impressive following!! Syrah/Mourvèdre and a touch of Viognier. — 11 years ago
As expected, a little over-the-top, but damn, such a delicious wine. Northern Rhone on steroids. Smoked meat, crushed berries, violets and hot rocks. #pasorobles #saxum — 9 years ago

Concentrated, rich red fruits, dry on the very finish. Don't know how they get such concentration and complexity. #saxum #pasorobleswine #2013 — 9 years ago
