A light ruby core fading out to salmon with med - concentration. The nose was quite fragrant with med intensity and almost med + complexity driven by sweet red fruits, spice, and flowers. Unfortunately the palate was not inline with the nose. The structure was firm and austere creating a drying sensation throughout the mouth. Dusty grape and dried blackberry and raspberry are tempered by sunny mushroom in the form of chanterelle and porcini. Soy and sorghum. Conversely, the animal feed nature of the nose is subverted by resurgent fruit that mirrors dried plums bordering prune before slamming into a spongy mushroom flesh. Meatiness abounds, but doesn’t slice thickly. Solid despite. Bigly showing fruit tannin visceral-ity.

A profound wine of Grand Cru complexity. Forest floor, mushroom tea, hard crack caramel and quatre epices. Completely secondary aromas and flavors, but still fresh and full of potential. Unfined and unfiltered, yet whistle-clean and showing great promise for another decade of pleasure.
