The "KING OF THE HILL" these days when it comes to premox-free, super clean, terroir-specific white #Burgundies. Pierre-Yves' 2005 #Corton #Charlemagne was incredibly sleek and linear which is why my initial impression was that of a more recent, much younger Chablis. Perhaps my favorite white Burg vineyard, Corton Charlemagne straddles the characteristics of traditional Côte de Beaune whites with their generous, ample body with Chablis and their steely mineral structure.
One of the most youthful and most fresh 2005s yet encountered with years of life ahead! #CortonCharlemagne #ColinMorey #Burgundy #Chardonnay #GrandCru — 3 years ago
#2007 white #Burgundies are pretty wonderful when they are not victimized by the premox problem. Colin-Morey's Bienvenues is as great as #Chardonnay can be... truly a spectacular wine that still has years to go due to its perfect balance between acidity, oak and fruit. This is desert island material without a doubt! #ColinMorey #BienvenuesBâtard #Montrachet #GrandCru — 4 years ago
#Roumier red #Burgundies are now considered to be amongst the very top echelon of #Pinots from anywhere on earth. His #Musigny is virtually unaffordable along with the top DRCs, but the queen at his court is this Bonnes-Mares, and a very worthy royalty it is. Drinks now but will continue to improve for another decade...if you can find it. #2002 — 4 years ago
