Surprised I've never rated this because I buy it often. I like it as it's cheap for cooking, and a bunch of it happily finds its way into my belly. This bottle has a bit of gasoline on the nose, but it is crisp and clean. Using it for shrimp pasta. A little for the shrimp, a little for me.

This is 5 Bells single barrel bourbon, batch 1 bottle 7, bottled by yours truly in Rockford, IL. 100.6 proof, barrel strength. Proceeds benefit mental health/trauma efforts for firefighters. We had a very fun time at the brand launch yesterday. This juice is fairly complex considering it was only aged about 4 years. Not overly corny. Dried apricots, peanut brittle, nutmeg, and a green component like wet leaves.

I asked the waitress to surprise me, so I tasted this blind. I thought it was an uptight California Cabernet Sauvignon. It was dark and fruity, oaky, leathery, with a good amount of eucalyptus. The only thing Malbec-y about it was the color.

I had a glass of this Friday night and thought it was spectacular. Now, by that point I had plenty of other wine in my system. Last night I tried it again and it wasn't spectacular, though, it's fine. Not complex, but very tannic.

Yeah, here we go! This blows away the 2019 bottle. Way better than the low price would suggest. Complex and inviting. Perfect rainy Monday night wine.
