Beautiful. Lighter in body than expected and possibly would’ve shown better a year or so ago but beautiful, nonetheless. — 8 months ago
An old favorite from the Ballard Canyon. Fresh and bright early on. Smooth and layered as it opens up. — 9 months ago
Holy smokes this is good! My expectations were modest due to my stereotyping its Santa Clara County provenance, but I stand corrected. This is apparently an old-vine blend featuring about 50% Zin and a mix of Carignane and Mataro (Mourvèdre) to round it out. The purity of the black and red berries on the nose is remarkable. A bit of crushed stony earth. In the mouth, there’s tremendous flavor concentration but with an athletic mouthfeel that balances nice acids and super-soft tannic support. Great length. Color me duly impressed. Shoulda got more. 14.5% alcohol thank you very much. — a month ago
One of the best GS blends tasted from 2020 so far; also one of the best wines I’ve tasted from this winemaker. Drink or hold — 9 months ago

Nice jammy easy drinker non-aggressive zin — 2 months ago
Big cherry nose. More cherry on the palate with tart raspberry, pomegranate, and oak. Some tertiary fruit notes at this stage for this 2015, so drink now. Medium alcohol, medium body, medium minus tannins, high acid, medium plus finish. — 3 months ago
Very well done. Although a big wine, not overpowering. Sweet, smoky blueberries with a wild touch. Nice savory notes. Young now but has great potential. — 10 months ago
