Stunning. Wow. Nose is super confectionery. Apricots and peaches. Peach skin and such vivid apricots. Wow. This is so so stunning. Unreal classic Pfalz minerals as well. Palate is a masterclass in elegance. Concentrated and sappy with astonishing purity and tons of apricot fruit and levels of finesse that are shockingly more than I expected. — 2 years ago
Retasted 3y later.
Beautiful, uplifting aromas of spice, incense, dried red berries, a touch of mushroomy undergrowth and a whiff of cedar wood. Aetheric and very Musigny-like.
On the palate still remarkably youthful. On the lighter side yet with a decent, super fine tannic presence and juicy, orange-peel infused acidity. Love the mid palate especially with the umami flavours slowly emerging. And the long finish is not bad either!
Glad I still have a few bottle of this left! — 3 years ago
At 24 years of age this is youthful and vital with a rich ridge of stone fruit braced by range citrus acid and a lingering, slightly mineral finish. Delightful. — a year ago
Lemon, lemon peel, orange, pineaple and a tad of chalk : the nose is quite complex! The palate is very well balanced, crisp and clean with a superb acid backbone, nice touches of lemon an pineaple all along, a vivid and dynamic mouthfeel and a long clean and fresh finish with this citrusy tune which is played all along the backbone. That's great! — 2 years ago
Tasting sample, not yet fully released.
Much more open than Gaisböhl with lemons & limes + a bit of sandy minerality. Such a beautiful mouthfeel with more body and so much more depth & length vs Gaisböhl. Amazing purity and already so approachable. Great length. A brilliant wine. One of the best of ‘22? — 8 months ago
Delicious big red blend from Paso. Vanilla and hints of sarsaparilla. Balanced and delightful. — 2 years ago
I rarely get to enjoy properly aged Riesling. The little bit of rs is well integrated, dried lemon peel and some candied apricot are pretty. Acidity has mellowed, maybe a bit too much, there’s no electricity running through it. — 3 years ago
