Had a bottle at Whispering Vine in Reno. A nice Cab/Shiraz. A bit of plum, grape, and stewed fruit on the nose with some pepper on the bud. Nice tannins with a bit of sediment. Overall a nice wine that wine well with our South Creek Pizza Shuffle Truffle pizza. — 3 years ago
Deep dark plum in the glass. Basically impenetrable. A touch of bricking on the thin edges. On the nose, the fruit is barely clinging on but still present. Plums and blueberries are the dominant notes here. A heavy dose of toasted cedar and green bell peppers. There’s faint floral aromas of violets along with a shock of burnt tobacco.
This is about as Napa as Napa gets. I was quite worried about how this Cab would present but it’s still alive and kicking. The end may be nigh but not quite nigh enough. Pleasant acid and well integrated tannins. Big and rich as you would expect an Oakville Cab to be but still smooth after hours of decanting. Plenty of chocolate with a dash of vanilla. The fruit on the tongue is diminished and subtle but still showing pretty well. Cherry pie and blueberry cobbler. The finish is medium length with just a touch of soft spice. This was so much fun and a great experience. Definitely mature and knocking on the door of almost gone but still good, nonetheless. — 4 years ago
2015. So smooth and mild and drinkable — 7 years ago
Dark cherry tobacco
This wine is like chomping on a pencil, smoking a pipe full of peace, and eating dark ripened tree fruit. Lingering, secret whispering tannins keep back and forth across my tongue, with a weight to carry it all, which I will voluntarily do.

Pleasant, dry and gentle Rasberries. — a month ago
Aroma of flinty strawberries. Tart strawberries berries upfront. Watermelon comes into play in the middle. Then a quick bone dry finish. — 3 years ago
Proper French rose with the strawberry notes to go along with it. Reminds me of a budget version of whispering Angel. — 6 years ago
Another terrific Tavel from a top Rhone producer. Limited availability in Texas. Approx 4-6 million bottles annually are produced by the entire Tavel AOC, which is less some single bottlings of Provence Rosé (e.g. Whispering Angel). 2018 is bit riper than our favorite 2014 release, but this could be due to the blend this year: 60% Grenache, 10% Cinsault, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 5% Bourboulenc and 5% ClairetteABV 14.5% ABV, no oak used. Would be nice to try this producer's other two rosés. Red plum, bright cherry, white flowers, and garrigue. — 7 years ago

I like rose... this stuff is awesome. A little more red wine than that whispering angel stuff. Love it for that. Good. Sweet but not thin and sugary. Full bodied. Great stuff. — 9 years ago
Spicy mulberry aromas and flavors in this lovely aged Shiraz from the Whispering Hill vineyard in the Mt. Barker area of the Great Southern region, the winery is about 1 hour north of the Margaret River area, on the way south from Perth, still quite dark color, starting to show its age, but still a very fine Shiraz!! — 6 months ago
