Riesling 2018

Starts off quite sweet on the nose with a ripe peaches, apricots, honeyed fruit, a floral hint but after a bit slatey minerality emerges, with herby, slatey, savoury side to it.
On the palate this is drier than on the nose. Juicy, fresh with good depth & purity. Very mineral with the white peach playing second fiddle. Ripe yet savoury. Brilliant balance.
A very nice example from the Mosel.

Coronilla Großes Gewächs Riesling 2003

Excellent but drink up next 2-3 years. Mild petrol-esque notes but not a petrol bomb by any means. Typical Franken silkiness to the palate. — 9 months ago

Uhlen R Grosse Lage Terroir Rothlay Riesling

Nose is deep and rich. Lightly unctuous in an elegant way. Some mustiness as this opens.

Palate is rich apple fruit. Hint of lemon pith. Mineral. Some petrol. Well done.

B Schieferformation Blaufüsser Lay Uhlen Grosse Lage Riesling 2015

Citrus fruits, melon, honeysuckle, flint, and gunpowder. Concentrated flavors, ripping acidity, long. Just a little out of balance with the gunpowder over fruit. — 10 months ago

Röttgen 1er Riesling 2008

This is really unlike any other Trocken Riesling from the Mosel area.
Very rich and suave, tropical fruit, unctuous low-acidity mouthfeel, hints of liquorice-root and curry-powder, grilled pineapple and passionfruit.
