Apricot marmalade and drying flowers. A little more advanced than expected but still delicious. — 4 years ago
Still quite nice 😊 In my cellar since release. Botrytis and peach finish is off dry. — 7 months ago
My first GG purchase - and what a bargain at $38. Fuller bodied and ripe Riesling that managed to be juicy, dry, and elegant. A hint of oak adds a nice creaminess to the mid palate, while the finish features sizzling clean acidity.
More info: Rosengarten is a 3.5 ha former monopole that is enclosed by historic stone walls and castle ruins which offer protection from wind and cool air (Spreitzer owns 2.5 ha). The soil is shell limestone rich with calcerous loam. — 4 years ago
Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: a kiss of petrol, ripe peach, and a savory almost bbq note. On the palate: excellent acidity, a touch of lees, dense peach, guava, a hint of saffron, and a nice juicy finish. I think shows a little "breadier" than previous btls...I hope that dissipates with age. — a year ago
Good sweet Riesling, a little sweeter than I expected. Very sweet attack with flavors of honey and pineapple, followed by crisp finish. Good even if a little over-sweet. — 2 years ago
Distinctive style of Riesling from the old vines of the Hendelberg vineyard. Noticeable skin contact and oak influence make this seem a tad more mature than 2017. Underripe passionfruit, strawberries and cream, and spice with a honeyed, medium bodied palate. $20 — 4 years ago
