Weingut Spreitzer
Wisselbrunnen GG Riesling
Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: a kiss of petrol, ripe peach, and a savory almost bbq note. On the palate: excellent acidity, a touch of lees, dense peach, guava, a hint of saffron, and a nice juicy finish. I think shows a little "breadier" than previous btls...I hope that dissipates with age.

Aug 30th, 2023Oops...didn't check whether I had this recently. On the nose: classic pure peach, melon, soft petrol, some leesy notes, sour guava, yum. On the palate: fantastic acidity, excellent density, wet stone, underripe guava, sweet peach, good length on the finish. Note to self: give the next btl some time, say 3-5 years?

Oct 12th, 2021Not much to add to my last note. The "fruity pebble" note was gone, and replaced with a bit of petrol..much more serious showing but again a lovely btl.

May 15th, 2021Pop and pour. On the nose: I totally get fruity pebbles, but not in a pejorative way; ripe peach, honeysuckle, very soft leesy notes, a touch of tang. On the palate: fantastic acidity, peach, soft lees, lemon, lime, fantastic density, riper and more perceptible RS than other 18 GG I've tasted, but paired so well with our salmon. Lovely, dense and vividly energetic finish.
