2018: Young but lots of inky purple fruit with good concentration. Tannins are well-integrated for such a young wine but will need time to become more than just fruit. Some mineral backing gives some hope for some more funky Rotie flavors but will take some years. $56? At VR. — 3 years ago
Wow, smooth and delicious! California-ish. (VR) — 4 years ago
Intense and muscular, nothing subtle about 2017. Very good depth for village and it continues to gain complexity and show some layers as it unfurls. Lots of tension and finesse showing black raspberries, pomegranate, crushed minerals and hints of topsoil. Finishes with very good length and lift. When you talk about village red wines that set themselves apart you think Fourrier’s Gevrey, Mugneret Gibourg’s VR (of course CLB too), and then there is Roumier’s Chambolle. Great now and even better later ❤️ — 6 years ago
Good Aldis wine. Especially after decanting for a bit — 7 years ago
2018: starting to drink well despite youth. Good measure of earthy edge keeps the fruit and tannins in balance. $40 sale at VR — 2 years ago

Smooth, light, delightfully old world nebbiolo (VR). — 4 years ago
2016: Excellent Cab-based Super Tuscan, already drinking well with air. Big, mouth-filling blackberry fruit balanced with stone, leather and acidity. Concentrated but so smooth. Love the 2012 - this 2016 will probably be better over time $55 at VR and NJFW. — 5 years ago
2017: Well-rated, very good CDP that features darker stewed fruit flavors and a good amount of port and earth nuances. While it suffers a typical CDP lack of acidity and vibrancy at this stage the fruit concentration makes this an above-average bottling and complements the growing complexity. Good value at $52 (VR). — 2 years ago
2015: Excellent Brunello, hitting its prime now. $58 at VR. — 4 years ago
2013: Classic Vallpolicella, a “half Amarone” ripasso. Dense, inky, mouth-coating, full-bodied without too much sweetness and with some barnyard funk. I only wish it had a bit more grip: was more enjoyable early on when the tannins were more evident. Could be a function of the good-but-not-great vintage, but I slightly prefer Quintarelli for this kind of pocket change ($95, VR). — 4 years ago
Excellent burgundy. Pronounced favour with spicy more than floral. On palate in good strength. So it may not be a VR. At peak, in the wonderland, give u all u want — 5 years ago

I may have rated this in the past but it’s been so long. A great find from Aldi with a great price! red garnet in color, slightly tannic with dark fruit on the palate. I love it — 4 months ago
