Don’t be fooled. Just because this is the entry level for Clape does not mean this should be overlooked. “Le Vin des Amis” is made from a 1ha vineyard in between the village of Cornas and the Rhône river. This bottle was opened about an hour before it was poured. Deep, dark garnet in the glass...bordering violet. Glass staining. The nose was absolutely wild! Straight up deli case with olive mortadella, and all the cured meats. But it doesn’t stop there. This is well endowed with baked and smoked blueberries and mulberries, dried herbs and lavender. The palate tells more of the fruit story with the lush blue and black fruits taking the starring role. So pure; so dense! Yet, there is minerality and remarkable acidity giving all of the fruit the lift it needs. Tannins are medium. Long, long finish. This wine was fermented and aged in concrete tanks and passes through foudre for two months before bottling. Some people hate on the price for this wine (around $50 these days) considering its humble designation but the quality is absolutely undeniable. A very serious wine. Impressive. — 3 days ago
Very interesting. So light but tannic. Like a great natural wine meets a familiar mediocre average red wine from a restaurant of not your choosing. — 18 days ago

Really liked this one as it was a fruit bomb in a good way. Though there are some hints of black cherry, the general flavor profile was bright red crunchy berries. Serve slightly on the chilled side... be careful though, it will disappear quickly. — 3 days ago
So clean, tons of mineral, a little apple, a lot of refill. — 7 hours ago
This was stunning. Caramel nose, with a rich, smooth finish. Fantastic with a tangy, spicy, coconut Indian fish curry. — 2 days ago
This was a super fun flight of three blind Macvin’s with the 2009 Labet being the pick for me. Round and soft with ripe stone fruits poking their heads just above the brandy notes. A tasty trio to chat and joke over at the tail end of a entertaining evening - 2009 — a month ago
Nose on the light to medium side with plum, gravel, and fig. Black fruit and soil dominate the palate. Tannins mostly resolved at this stage. Finish is dry and falls off a bit quickly. Drink up, as this will not improve further.
