Okay this is awesome. Old school. Cigar, Cuban tobacco, chestnut, tar, dead roses, so so so Nebbiolo. The high toned aromas are just stunning. Really wafts. It’s old school but super clean. Pop and pour and the aromas just kill! Wow. Wow. Palate is just gorgeous. Astonishing purity and freshness and oodles of mid season ripe cherries and wonderful opulence. Superb juiciness. Like 10/10 juiciness. Lovely velvety tannins and such a long juicy finish. So so pure. This is a freakshow. — 6 years ago

Great Barbera! Paired very well with the pastas we ate. Not sure how well it would stand on its own but great with a meal! — 8 years ago

Nebbiolo/Uva Rara/Barbera.
Dark color and nice nose of dried cherry, ripe plum, spices and herbs. Dried roses as well. Very aromatic. Palate is deep, juicy and so sleek and refined. Terrific finish and really pumps the fruit on the finish. Nose starts to deliver wild mint, mashed mid season to late season cherries after some minor aeration. Tannins are slate like, but ripe and gorgeous. Really rich but also fresh and energetic. A terrific value and that finish and explosive mid palate is the story. This is a glugger but also has the guts to age. — 10 months ago

Bracing for end of days tropical rainfall with Mullar Thurgau. Why yes, yes it is quite baller. Stone ground mountain stream laced with green citrus. — 11 years ago
Haven’t had this wine in a while, and my god, what a return. Nose is sick. Comforting aromas of chestnut, spice, tar, leather, roses and more. So deep, accurate, and detailed, with loads of sweet spices. 9.6 nose. Gorgeous. The palate comes in with huge concentration and sap, big tannins that will smooth out with air. Dark cherry fruit and a whole inner world of florals and spices. The finish just imprints itself on your palate, juicy, suave, but in need of air. It’s all there.
With air, the nose picks up caramel, tree bark, and forest floor. Really elegant and pure. The tannins still need age and oxygen to calm down, but after much air, it’s lovely. Nose turns harmonious and full, tree bark, oolong tea, tar, roses, dark macerated cherries. Velvety palate, luscious fruit. So fresh and nimble. — 9 months ago
A lot more advanced than expected for a 2010 but very pleasant. — 8 years ago

The nose has civilized with air, still wildly Nebbiolo, but now the chestnut, mint, tar, dried roses, spice, and a fascinating honeyed element are all starting to braid together. The palate has insane energy, with the fruit-tannin exchange finally happening instead of the tannins simply taking hostages in the back of the mouth. Beautiful fruit, serious structure, huge Alto Piemonte personality. Nebbiolo remains the most punk rock grape on earth. Amazing wine. — 5 days ago
