Drank with bacon wrapped grilled ducks and Josh M’s spicy sausage risotto. Really good pairing. Great wine. — 4 months ago
Intense savoury cherry. See previous Delectable note. Vacqueyras - 2nd only to Gigondas for Côtes du Rhône villages. This wine was 70% Grenache (over 60 years old), 15% Syrah (40 years old) and 15% Mourvèdre (40 years old). Tends to be slightly more rustic than Gigondas although this was very satisfying and good QPR. Alcohol a bit high at 14.5%. — 7 months ago

The description: Elegant, well rounded and medium bodied style. Aromatic persistence in the mouth and soft, silky tannins ripening slowly.
The opinion: Needs a few more years to deepen its flavour — 4 months ago
The first time I had a Vacqueyras. We had it with a dinner of lamb chops and miniature potatoes. It is pleasantly tart, a little dry. Notes of dark cherry, tobacco. — 6 months ago
Always love this wine. So complete and balanced, especially in cooler vintages. Welcoming nose of dark fruits, some funky stable and of course garique. Fresh palate with laurel, leather and some bitters. This can age gracefully. — 2 months ago
Deep purple color.
Aromas of cassis, cocoa, peppercorn.
Dry. Flavors of cassis, cocoa, raspberry candy, cinnamon, licorice. Medium-rich, velvety tannins.

Once upon a time, one could argue that Vacqueras was a poor man’s CNP. But at this point CNP may be the fool’s Vacqueras. A little menthol on the nose. Lots of dark fruit, leather, crushed stones, maraschino cherries and a hint of leather on the palate. Rustic and sublime at the same time. Great wine for fall and colder weather. — 6 months ago

2021 vintage. Medium-medium heavy bod. 70% Grenache. 15% Syrah. 15% Mouvédre. Delish. 100% stem inclusion if that rings your particular bell. My bell particularly rung at a $19.90 btl cost. 03.19.25. — a month ago
