Wow! Superbe vin. Fruits noirs, un tout petit peu de boisé encore, anis étoilée. Une bouche pleine, gourmande, puissante mais avec classe et élegance, superbe texture soyeuse, très long en bouche. 93-94

NV. Color an impossibly light emerald green. A high, airy nose that flirtatiously disregards the soft tissue of the sinuses and impresses the cranial cavity. Possessing more finesse than should be possible on this earthly planet. The standard green Chartreuse is my fave liqueur but this enters a different dimension. Nez riche avec une forte impression sucrée que l’on retrouve en bouche aussi, gras, rond avec un peu d’acidité, finale avec de l’alcool et comme un sucre résiduel, 89. Clairement identifié comme Cotat.

Was this a Rhône blend in a previous vintage, or was I rating another wine? Perhaps the varietals change from year to year, so long as it represents “one valley”, i.e. Walla Walla. Regardless, this vintage is a nice Bordeaux style blend, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Good stuff! It’s a big wine with balanced acidity. I enjoyed this as a cocktail wine. The mouthfeel is rich and thick, but not cloying. The use of oak is admirably restrained. It appreciated in flavor after some decanting. — 3 years ago
