Huge aromas of blueberry, smoke, liquid minerals and smoke. Very tarry. A bit of heat. Palate is opulent and ripe with good intensity and richness. Acid is a bit low but it’s a good sip. Maybe will grow with air? I will be back. Acid becomes more pronounced with air and it gets more complex. — 9 months ago
“L” natural Grenache at Primrose 2019 with Zubal on 7/14/21. Dazzlingly delightful recommended by Sebastian for $70. Dances on the front of the tongue. Light, lots of barnyard, to the point of “manure“. Does not stand up to food. — 3 years ago
Lovely super Tuscan. Juicy with enough acidity and grip to stand up to smoked ribs. And not too expensive. — 3 months ago
2019 vintage.
Named after a little creek running between the vineyards and the Villa.
60 % Merlot, 30 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc from vineyards in Bolgheri and Maremma.
12 months in French and American Oak barriques…30 % new.
Deep, dark ruby red.
Red fruit, leather, toasty and herbal on the nose.
Dark plum, tobacco, bay leaf with finely grained tannins with medium acidity and a fresh finish.
This wine definitely punches above its weight.
It’s the little brother.
The big brother is Sor Ugo.
Try it if you have the opportunity. — a year ago
Wow! What a beautiful beast !
Nose: blackberry liquor. So sweet and beautiful. Penetrating. So dense.
Palate: sweet blackberry. Silky texture. So good.
This lasts about 15 minutes in the glass. So pour small and drink quick. — 5 months ago
Very highly rated but i was unimpressed. No formal notes. — 9 months ago
Nice balance, good berries up front and pepper and a little leather. I felt it could have a little more depth. Ugo liked it more than me. Aged well. Nice treat. — 2 years ago
Notes of ripe cherries and earth, almost spicy. Nice balance and stimulating texture. Long finish. Good yummy GL wine saved since '06! — 4 years ago

No formal notes , just impressions this evening . This is a bit more intense and fruit driven on the nose , dark cherry, red plums with some of the spice, pine and liquorice notes . In the mouth more tannic , also intense and quite powerful. Very different in style to the Il Campitello , more rustic perhaps , reminds me of the CC in that regard, and will need more time than the others . Gritty tannins and fresh acidity but good intensity and decent length . Doesn’t have the elegance of the Il Campitello , but is more powerful and will probably be longer lived . Needs another 5 years , will last well a further 15 . — a month ago
