What color! Many a Burg would like to wear that. Cherry transparent. Big smokey, woodsy, spicy, tactile nose, you’re in Italy for sure. Cherries & plums. Some spice box and cinnamon. Bit ‘o coffee.
Really nice lifted acidity, grippy, dry but mini plush right down the center of your tongue. Red fruits, leather, ( young), clove, cardamom, makes you crave food but it could be alone on a beautiful summer evening. As it airs out, fruit comes to the fore and the palate broadens, tannins recede.More from Ugo Lequio please. Stunner.

Notes of ripe cherries and earth, almost spicy. Nice balance and stimulating texture. Long finish. Good yummy GL wine saved since '06! — 4 years ago
Very highly rated but i was unimpressed. No formal notes. — 2 months ago
2019 vintage.
Named after a little creek running between the vineyards and the Villa.
60 % Merlot, 30 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc from vineyards in Bolgheri and Maremma.
12 months in French and American Oak barriques…30 % new.
Deep, dark ruby red.
Red fruit, leather, toasty and herbal on the nose.
Dark plum, tobacco, bay leaf with finely grained tannins with medium acidity and a fresh finish.
This wine definitely punches above its weight.
It’s the little brother.

This Chianti needs significant time to breathe before consuming. There is no question it is quite good. But it is not worth its higher price. It is straightforward and well-made, but lacks the typical astringent Chianti bite in the finish. Good cherry flavor, smooth and elegant, but not complex. — 2 years ago
Huge aromas of blueberry, smoke, liquid minerals and smoke. Very tarry. A bit of heat. Palate is opulent and ripe with good intensity and richness. Acid is a bit low but it’s a good sip. Maybe will grow with air? I will be back. Acid becomes more pronounced with air and it gets more complex. — 3 months ago
Nice balance, good berries up front and pepper and a little leather. I felt it could have a little more depth. Ugo liked it more than me. Aged well. Nice treat. — 2 years ago
“L” natural Grenache at Primrose 2019 with Zubal on 7/14/21. Dazzlingly delightful recommended by Sebastian for $70. Dances on the front of the tongue. Light, lots of barnyard, to the point of “manure“. Does not stand up to food. — 3 years ago

Well balanced, deep rich fruit notes. Good mouthfeel, solid wine for the price. Will see how it evolves. — 2 months ago
