Always reliable. Juicy BlackBerries, black pepper, and beef jerky. One of the better values in Napa. — 7 years ago
We drank the 1980 Chateau Montalena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with the 1980 Carneros Creek Turnbull/Fay Cab & Truchard Cabs. All three showing very well. All three acquired at release. The Montalena is very nice. It needed 15-20+ minutes to show its best. Great cherry, raspberry fruit. Perfectly mature now. Will hold for a couple years but peaking now. Enjoy if you have any of the wine. — 9 years ago

Sweet but tart notes upon sipping with a spicy finish. Rich saplike quality throughout — 8 years ago
The 1980 Carneros Creek Cabernet Sauvignon from the Truchard Vineyard located in the Carneros is drinking beautifully! Great depth of cherry and cassis in the nose. Packed with fruit on the palate. Long fruit finish with firm tannins. Drinks well now but will hold for another 5+ years. Great wine! — 9 years ago
Lean high acid Napa Chardonnay. Fruit is from Truchard in Carneros. — 10 years ago
Wrong wine two days in a row! This is Cabernet Sauvignon, NOT their red blend. When will Delectable allow us to correct these errors? anyway, This offers deep, rich, intense, bittersweet chocolate and tart black cherries paired with prominent oak and tannins make this a good value for lovers of big wines. JaM (John and Michelle Truchard) Cellars, $19. Had by the glass at Norman Rose in Napa. — 11 years ago
Wowza .... so smooth and lovely with carrot black truffle appetizer. — 6 years ago
Lloyd made the rounds working at a bunch of renowned wineries, Cakebread, Stag’s Leap, La Crema & Rombauer where he gained Head Winemaker status before leaving in 2008 to start his own project, Lloyd Cellars. Fruit sourced from blocks in Sangiacomo & Truchard Vineyards, aged for 10 months in new American oak. Aromas of ripe stone & tropical fruits, citrus and blossom notes. Palate has apple, pear & peach flavors with bits of citrus wrapped in a creamy texture. Long rich finish ending with slight toasty notes. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
