The Swiss name for the varietal in this little gem is “Heida”. As the story goes there’s a strong probability that as the vines were shared, passed and re-planted around the Swiss region decades ago, what began as Traminer evolved into what I’ve got under my nose. Lush pear and stone lead the way to a truly remarkably smooth and voluptuous palate. Meat on its bones, and in all the right, graceful ways. The palate leads (and holds) through the lengthy finish that’s balanced beautifully between a sort of creamy presence and juicy acidity.

Bought at Salisbury depot Oct 2019. Good and price was great for the size of bottle — a month ago
Great nose and taste. A perfect balance between the fruity flavors of Traminer and the herbal notes of Sauvignon. Organic wine! — a month ago
2010 vintage. Outstanding dessert wine from Umbria, one I have not tried before. Perfectly paired with Orange Julius Creme Brûlée at Element Mediterranean Cuisine in Sarasota. — 2 months ago
