Awesome spice to this nose. Indian spices. Minty earthy funk. Age showing but this wine is not dead at all (1987!) Medium balanced acid and very restrained dark fruit across the palette. Tannins integrated (and quite chalky) with the juice well and the finish is long. Bravo. — 9 years ago
Second Matthiasson wine that I've tried and it definitely does not disappoint. Low alcohol, elegant smooth mouthfeel and not over-the-top with the cream which is a breath of fresh air for a Californian Chardonnay. Pineapple, guava, and a hint of banana on the nose, Meyer lemon and a distinct minerality on the palate with just a dollop of creamy texture. A lovely wine. Bravo. — 10 years ago

Decanted one hour. Delicious! If I tasted thing blind I would say it could be nothing other than beautifully aged bordeaux, which is crazy considering it’s entirely Sangiovese. This is a real beauty. It is fully mature but will continue to age gracefully for at least a few more years. Bravo! — 3 years ago
A great light red being sold for $8.86 a bottle it’s a steal if a deal and very delicious — 7 years ago
Cult chard tasted alongside a 2010 Aubert Lauren Chard....this one lost by a unanimous vote (and it wasn't even a blind vote either). I think everyone WANTED the Judge to win, but there was nothing to Judge here. At least for THIS COMPARISON, in 2018, the Aubert was the winner. BUT, this Judge chard did have more acidity up front than the Aubert, and IMO this wine has more aging potential than the 2010 Lauren Chard, which was pretty much right on the top of the hill tonght. Hard to beat a wine in its prime window, but goes to show you that Aubert makes chards that will compete with this kind of opponent. Lots of acid up front. Stone ground fruit entry, mineral-rich middle. I think that I was getting more pear than anything else here, but there was a hint of youthful butter and some dates. Finishes with actually a really nice fruit/nutty/almost gritty/tannin character for about 60 seconds, which is the one thing I will say that I give advantage to the Judge. Bravo! — 8 years ago

At its peak. Muddled dark fruit aromatics; anise hints in the aroma. Dusty terroir mid palate showing off its origins. Nice finish of elegance and style. Bravo! Thank you Rick for sharing this beautiful bottle with us. Great way to celebrate Valentines Day! 🍷 — 9 years ago
Bucket-list Dominus dinner at Next in Chicago with Christian Moueix and seven vintages of Dominus. I poured a glass for Monsieur Moueix and had him sign the bottle. Wine was absolutely singing at 28 years old… still medium deep purple with resolved tannins and expected sediment. Bravo Christian… and thank you for your efforts. — 4 years ago
Drinking amazingly well right now with a brief decant, this offers deep and bright black currents and a great finish. Has the acidity and stuffing to stand up to ribeye steaks we were having. Bravo. — 8 years ago
Thank you Dov @Dov Eidelman for pulling this beauty out of your cellar and sharing it with us. Opulent nose., strikingly rich and lush. Bravo my friend! — 9 years ago
Key word is smiling - details - Boudreaux blend with 75% cab - Galloni and RP like it and thought I would procure and yes it is a baby but OMG it is damn good right now - I had Ric stuff before and it was good but this is his best of the four vintages I had
This is big bold and beautiful - it jumps at you with intensity and power and energy - and still smooth - please decant as I did for two hours
Dark purplish fruit is blowing away my nose and steering to happiness with the taste and finish - this is an old school taste I remember when I fell in love with Napa cabs - this baby will keep growing as it rest for a long time - bravo Mr Forman - and summing it up - all SMILES — 9 years ago
WOTN-> this absolutely crushed it tonight. Destroyed it's competition. Thank God that I poured it after the Jarvis. No one would've wanted to drink the Jarvis thereafter. Everything that you've come to expect from an incredible Celia Welch wine. Bravo!!! If I could post a picture of a mic drop in right now I would! Wowie holding up great. Thought it was raisiny to start with but it then went in reverse and tightened up with an hour. Really lovely dried herbs, red fruits, sandalwood and a little nag champa. Stellar and super fun to try a 22 year old Pinot. It could be nothing other than California and honestly SLH in particular which is a good thing because Burgundy belongs in burgundy and the Pisoni’s belong in SLH. Bravo — 3 years ago
