Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, herbs and spice, aged for 20 months in French oak (75% new). On the palate black cherry and black currant flavors with oak, vanilla and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine ripe dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak, espresso notes and pepper spice! Nice! Drinks well now, aging? check back in a year or so! — 3 days ago
This wine is delicious. It is so rounded that the flavors just merge to provide a memorable explosion of fruit blended with great structure. Like it — 3 hours ago
A classic. Powdered cocoa, a bright almost lemony note, and deep fruit notes. Perfectly balanced on the palate, warm and unctuous. Better, I think, than it showed a year or two ago. In my father's memory (his favorite bottle). Bottle #2 in FL. — 19 days ago
Lovely, bright and crisp with balanced fruit flavors — 3 days ago
2012 vintage. Really good; developed some additional notes beyond the big youth. Someone noted they smelled it 6 feet away. Indeed fragrant. — 2 hours ago
Nose has blueberry jam, toasted cedar plank, cocoa powder, ripe plum, prune, spring violets, wet blackberry and corner brownie.
Palate has dried blueberry, juiced plum, milk chocolate, (light) sweet red pepper slice, semi-dried blackberry, dried raspberry with fully resolved tannins. This bottle could easily hold thru 2025, in proper storage.
Last bottle from a full case we purchased in February 2005. We're really going to miss this wine, had been our favorite Merlot of all time from CA. An epic vineyard. — 24 days ago
