So interesting, blood oranges, raspeberry and strawberries. Cinnamon, tobacco, bush.
A fascinating tannin that enhances the joy of the sip. Long and enjoyable . Broader and altogether very different from the 2017. Perhaps a more mentally intriguing version. I love this too. — 22 days ago
I think people dont get brunello. There is so much on steroids brunello in the market everyone thinks it’s all like that. Not the case.
This is higher altitude brunello. No weightier than the average modern day barolo. It’s just Sangiovese instead of Nebbiolo. Honestly it’s almost middle of the Range for pommard. Not quite but it’s not far off.
Nose is almost licorice flower. Blackberry flower. Almost pommardian. As this opens so fucking beautiful. That blackberry flower licorice flower fusion.
Palate is such precise blackberry. Very linear and clean. Mineral. A hint of candied blackberry. Just a gorgeous hint. Expansive. Not thick at all. More silky texture like burgundy.
This is drinking well in one level but I feel like I killed it too young. In 5 years this might be epic.
As this opens - the fruit graciously takes a back seat. Almost some lavender on the nose. Palate is more about lavender and licorice flower. Yeah. You think you know brunello ? Nah. This is what it should be but ain’t. Pommard of Italy. Honestly 1er cru pommard in Density balance and aromatics. For 40% of the cost.

Delicious Alsatian Riesling. This wine tastes as fresh as if it were made yesterday. It is a little thick and syrupy, despite its age. But still a good wine. — 4 months ago
First experience with Bandol... liked it! Dark and thick, almost black. Ripe but not as fruity, earthy and very full bodied, punchy wine with noticeable tannin. A good one for spicy or greasy food, although I will still pick an Aglianico or Uruguayan Tannat over it... — 2 months ago
This is the Gamay de Beauregard @Delectable Wine
Lifting aromas of bright and alluring berry fruit. Insane levels of spice, loam, flowers, alpine, clean minerals, really floral and really mineral with a thick berry fruit as well. Unreal aromas. So layered and deep. Some hints of mulch and potting soil. Be $50+ in Côte d’Or. Palate has terrific energy and depth. Unreal mineralIty and freshness. Terrific inner mouth florals and so juicy. God level juicy then finishes with lovely tanginess and minerality. Unreal purity of fruit and so sappy. This is as good as natural Savoie gamay is gonna get. Super expressive wine of terroir and great fruit. No dirty poop. Great wine. — 3 months ago
Strawberries, cherry cola, limestone and a hint of vanilla on the nose. A thick silky mouth feel that dries quickly with jammy cherry and blackberry notes. Well balanced and a long finish. As it opens up the nose starts to give off notes of caramel corn and oak. — 2 months ago
I could not resist but pull out this big Shiraz to pair with the thick cut of prime New York strip. To me the pairing is as good as it gets.
Ripe, but the 2014 vintage seems to have a more vivid acidity. The flavors just hit you like gentle warm gulf waves.
I will try to get my hands off my remaining bottles for a while. — 2 months ago
@Delectable Wine this is Havlin Vineyard Pinot Noir.
Nose is is mid season cherries, loads of minerals, spice and earth, slightly grapey. Palate is dense and has awesome structure and grip. Sour Cherry fruit and lovely finesse and purity. Really great fruit presence. This is very serious wine. Need air but it’s all there. What freshness and barely sweet sour cherry fruit. Has a Côte de Beaune vibe. Serious fruit depth and really really great purity. Long. Brilliant wine. This is as red fruited as it gets. Just stuff with complex and thick fruit. Love it. — 4 months ago
