Amazing Cab from Sicily. Who would have thought. Bursting in dark red, blue fruit flavor, very balanced with the plenty of fruit tannins, earthy minerals and a nice spice. This is such an interesting winery that I got to visit sometime. Growing grapes in the slopes of Mnt Edna. — 6 years ago

I've been exploring more of the Italian varietals lately, and really diving into the Bacci family of wines. This Vermentino they make is just unique enough amungst it's kind that it stands out a hair more than the rest. A faint reminder of petrol from some German Riesling on the nose, followed by fresh white flowers, hay, and honeysuckle. The pallet is fairly flinty and minerally, with notes of ripe white pears, lemon zest, and a crisp acidity to the finish without being sharp. Instead, it is a wine that plays it's tune steadily at mezzo piano, with a sharp ring of a high note to the finish. — 10 years ago

Memorable wine and reunion. Barolo 1971. With Sergi, after 24 years, Sergi's wife Inoah and Ferruccio. Had it with ravioli al plin with ragout, antipasto piemontese di verdure, wild boar salami and tuma di murazzano. Memorable. — 9 years ago

Excellent. Bold fruit and high acidity and solid tannins = Well balanced. Has herbal and leathery layers to it. 13.5% al. For $25, a good value. Buy again. — 3 years ago
Tastes like spring! Really enjoyed this bright, fruity, crisp, berry-oriented red. Low al of 10.5%. Buy again occasionally. — 5 years ago
Very dense and dark color. This is intense. A superb cherry and almond nose. Rather simple but inviting. The palate is much better. A strong acid drive which leads the way, a superb width with a blooming cherry note all along. A nice, soft mouthfeel and some matter on the side. Tannins pop up in midpalate with a very fine grain that remains as a layer on top of the mouthfeel until the very end. The finish is fresh with the fruit note and this grainy, almost sandy tannins. This is very good! We paired with home made pasta al ragù, and this was a dream pairing. — 5 years ago

Heerlijk zachte dessertwijn. Al het goede fruit van port, maar veel minder zuur en alcoholisch en zwoeler. De geroemde combinatie met cantuccini snap ik niet zo. Ik zou het graag combineren met andere zoetigheid, taart, chocolade, of met zilte kaas. — 10 years ago
