Sea Smoke

Ten Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2016

Lucious and a bit opulent palate with aromas and flavors or Kirsh and stewed strawberries make this a concentrated Pinot. Velvety tannins and a medium-full body make for a nice palate. — 8 days ago

1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Everything seemed a bit tired and underwhelming. Dark cherries with subtle oak and tannins. Was expecting more. Medium minus depth and finish. — 2 months ago

I’m going for it—a spade is a spade. I couldn’t ask for more in a wine, and it’s in the perfect drinking window. — a month ago

This wine was special. 9.8 - 10. Hard to argue with @James K that it checks all boxes.

Kayli Morgan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Decant for sediment and pour(some fine/cloudy sediment). A still dark murky garnet with bricking. On the nose: dark currants, stewed plums, boiled meat, herbaceous, pencil lead, eucalyptus, and mocha. Taste: velvety, smooth wine with some dried cherry, earth, graphite, smoked meat, and a dry mocha/cedar/dried herb medium finish. On the downside, but still drinkable at 20 years. — a month ago

After about 30 minutes it tastes better. Let it sit. Nice vino — 2 months ago

Sea Smoke

Ten Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2011

The anticipation and patience displayed holding this for 10 years was amply rewarded. Clear, brick-ish color, tight nose that eventually opened to loads of red fruit, Burgundy like in its combination of lushness and reserve. Subtle and layered even after all these years. — 3 months ago
