Another great wine with age in the pocket. Glad we caught it there. Lacked a lil of the magic you are looking for in red burg. But would def drink again. Thx Eothen — 3 years ago
Beautiful, approachable aromas of cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and vanilla. Delightful. Easy drinking without the usual heaviness of this grape. — 4 years ago
Young. I’ve said it many times; Hatton Daniels wines are made to age and this Cabernet is at the far end of the hold spectrum. While I loved drinking this there is so much potential that is overtaken by the density and freshness packed into this. 20-30-40 years just forget about this bottle. While it is great and definitely not hard by any means this will only become glorious over time. — 5 years ago
Slightly more browning than the Rocche, more terracotta and garnet rim . Deeper and quite meaty in character , bit more porcini , cured meats , dark fruit , more mineral . More meaty and compact on the palate too , touch of anis and rose , porcini , mineral , dark fruits . Well balanced more gritty tannin and quite fresh acidity . Good iron filling , anis tinged finish . This is more sombre and dark in character less charming and more rustic than the Rocche . Drinking well now , but will continue to give pleasure over the next 8-10 years or so — 7 months ago
Grower Champagne doesn’t excite me. Sue me. — 5 years ago
Sue and I really enjoyed this bottle from Trader Joe’s. — a year ago
I tried a pop and pour but it did need decanting - the nose was muted. Medium to full bodied - spicy and earthy with a touch of liquorice. Partial whole bunch in the ferment, basket pressed, indigenous yeasts, French Oak. Made by the talented Sue Bell with fruit from Wrattonbully, just to the north of Coonawarra. See previous note of 109 weeks ago when we did vintage at Bellwether. — 3 years ago
See previous notes. Classic Coonawarra mint, black fruits, dark chocolate and cigar box. Singing at 11 years but will go for another decade at least. Barb and I are flying to Adelaide today. Hire Car tomorrow for the 4 1/2 hours drive south to Coonawarra where we will be doing vintage at Bellwether for a week. Should be illuminating, hard work and rewarding with a great tutor in Sue Bell, owner and winemaker. Sue was lucky enough to be one of 12 in the annual Len Evans Tutorial a few years ago where they taste wines most of us can only dream of including flights of DRC, Rousseau etc. Sue was the Dux of her year and is in demand around Australia as a Show Judge. Should be a great week. — 5 years ago

Again marveling at this unusual creature of dark purple juice with dark floral yet fresh notes with a light but grippy palate that has grapey hints and a long intriguing finish. Great with Vietnamese and 9.98% ABV 49 cases made! — 5 days ago
