2014 drunk in 2024. Who knew this would hold up so well over 10 years? At the 2014 price I stand by my earlier statements that this was the best value American wine. Will need to pick up some later vintages to see if this still holds up. — 16 days ago

Delicious. In a really good place to drink currently — a month ago
Darkly floral and intense, the 2021 Casual Encounters blends black raspberries with cedar shavings, tobacco, and exotic spice. This is elegant in feel, with silken textures and decadently ripe red berry fruits. Cooling acidity maintains a fantastic balance as dark chocolate and balsamic spice firm up the finish, tapering off long and gently tannic. The 2021 is juicy yet expertly balanced. Good jammy flavor to sip on, fuller body than other Pinot Noirs. Sweeter. Drank in the Escape lounge at CMH with Zack the bartender in July 2024 after Kaitlin O’Hara’s wedding — 12 days ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Owner Doug Margerum and winemaker Doug "Scotty" Scott, craft world-class wine working with the top vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Blend of 49% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 5% Cinsault. Deep Ruby with dark fruit and floral aromas with complex spice. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry and raspberry with lively acidity. The finish brings notes of cacao, licorice, espresso and earthy minerality on a long ending. Nice value. — 11 days ago
