Eiswein White Blend

Dark amber color. (Very “Sherry-like” appearance.) Made from grapes of Beerenauslese ripeness that were quite oxidized. Fragrant aromas of caramel, apricots and honey. Apricots and peaches on the palate with additional notes of roasted nuts, burnt caramel and honey. Well balanced between sweetness and acidity. Quite interesting. Kabinett Riesling 2020

Enjoyable straightforward wine. It has the usual Riesling character but not very complex. Quite dry so even die hard red wine drinkers might like with light snacks etc. Good value. — 3 years ago

Haus Klosterberg Mosel Riesling

I brought the spice with this red curry situation so this was just the thing. Refreshing with a hint of tropical fruit and slightly inorganic nose, hint of lees — 10 months ago

Nahe Spätlese Riesling

Really enjoyed this Riesling! Had the typical petroleum aroma along with floral and citrus notes. Sweet flavors especially a nice grapefruit tone. Short crisp finish. Enjoyed it with shrimp. — 5 months ago

Haus Klosterburg Pinot Noir Rosé 2021

My first German 🌹 and from a produce of great Riesling.
The color is not very appealing - gold/yellow hues. I smell rose hips, tangerine, red grapefruit/pith.
Nice weight and texture for a rose, I tried it at 19c and the acids over dominated, now after being open a few hours and chilled to 9c I can enjoy texture, flavor and then acid and a slight effervescence.
The citrus notes carry through to the tongue, softened with honey. It's a good balance. Unlike other old world or new world rosé- something about it reminds me of Grüner veltlinnger, maybe the medium length herbal finish.
The longer the bottle is open the more it is showing and going on me- which is a trait I found of Markus Molitor riesling as well.
