Powerful dark fruit. A hefty Pinot, but not in a new world way. Maintains lift and freshness — 3 years ago
2017 vintage. @ Mister A’s Restaurant, San Diego-Les Caves de St. Charles CDP dinner. Initially, an absolute ballbuster. Massive tannins with a modicum of velveteen fruit at the end of a long tunnel. After two hours? Surprise! Change partners and the nearsome, fearsome tanninfest coalesced into the velveteen fruitfest. Remarkable concentration, tho, from start to finish over the course of the dinner. Best newer-vintage CDP, out of roughly 200, that I’ve had in the last two years. Just a remarkable chameleon. Supposedly 50/50 Grenache/Syrah. Worth the hunt. 11.16.23. — 5 months ago

Roy/Michelle visit with C/D Jane. Excellent mature Burg not much to add to previous notes. Pleasure. — 3 years ago

I liked this more than the Clos du Roy, but I’m going to have to compare then side to side next. — 9 months ago
Incredible vintage for Lachaux. With even more clarity and definition than the ripe 2018 rendition, 2019 Les Proces is gorgeous tonight, explosively aromatic, and showing incredible purity, elegance and finesse. The palate is pure silk, with minerality and verve and serious depth for a village wine. Magical things happening at this Domaine. Bravo Charles Lachaux. — a year ago
Rating Files du Roy Rosé. It is lovely and dry yet still holding plenty of notes of sweet strawberries. — 4 years ago

Palate: green apple. Lovely sweet fruit. Mineral. Great acidic balance. Blind I’d say 1er cru chablis.
