Smokey blueberries (if there was such a thing), vanilla, coconut cream, licorice, beef jerky, and a subtle dill/mint note. Plums, blueberries, sour cherry with some toasty oak and black tea. Medium acidity and medium, slightly course tannins.
Really tasty stuff. Quite Rioja like which I enjoy. I'll be looking for Temp from this region in the future. — 4 years ago
Deep Ruby color with aromas of red and black fruits, floral and smoky oak, mostly Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera, from Rufina subzone. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum flavors with garden herb notes, cacao and tobacco notes. Fine rustic tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and an earthy smoky spice character. Nice! — 7 months ago
Dry and fruity, but not overly so. Nice with spaghetti and meatballs. — 3 years ago
Castello Del Trebbio ‘Lastricato’ Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG 2016: Medium-bodied. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. Intense red fruit aromas with tasting notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, spice, earth & oak. Long smooth finish. All in all, an elegantly dark-colored, well-structured, fresh & ripe Chianti Rufina Riserva! Worth enjoying now or cellaring for later; you won’t be disappointed. Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

An entry level Rufina, but so QPR in a medium bodied 95 % Sangiovese 5% Colorino blend. Drank over 3 days, & it kept on giving. Dark red fruits like ripe plum with bay leaf in the background; medium acidity with a fantastically chewy mouthfeel, almost grainy. For 11$ & change on sale, high return QPR. Matched perfectly w roasted carrot & Brussel sprouts lasagna — 5 years ago

This is a tasty, elegant Chianti where the savory elements and fruit have equal billing. On the nose, aromas of earthy spice, dark cherry, leather, and a slight hint of dried herbs. The palate has plums, dark cherries, and dried fruit with a beautiful underlying layer of leather, earth, clove, and orange zest. The persistent finish leaves a lovely taste of dried fruit and spice on the palate. Some slight hints of grilled meat come through in the finish as well. So tasty. Soft on the palate, although tannins are slightly drying in the finish. Notes are based on pour from bottle on 2nd day, as 1st day my taste buds were a bit off due to recovering from a cold. Medium bodied, medium+ acidity. Thanks to @Tom Casagrande for making me aware of the Rufina subzone. — 7 days ago
