An entry level Rufina, but so QPR in a medium bodied 95 % Sangiovese 5% Colorino blend. Drank over 3 days, & it kept on giving. Dark red fruits like ripe plum with bay leaf in the background; medium acidity with a fantastically chewy mouthfeel, almost grainy. For 11$ & change on sale, high return QPR. Matched perfectly w roasted carrot & Brussel sprouts lasagna — 3 years ago

Castello Del Trebbio ‘Lastricato’ Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG 2016: Medium-bodied. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. Intense red fruit aromas with tasting notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, spice, earth & oak. Long smooth finish. All in all, an elegantly dark-colored, well-structured, fresh & ripe Chianti Rufina Riserva! Worth enjoying now or cellaring for later; you won’t be disappointed. Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
High Level Chianti Rufina! Complex and long finale, but velvet, smooth tannins. Toasted wood, tobacco - all subtle but very present!! Fruit notes like lingonberry…

Smokey blueberries (if there was such a thing), vanilla, coconut cream, licorice, beef jerky, and a subtle dill/mint note. Plums, blueberries, sour cherry with some toasty oak and black tea. Medium acidity and medium, slightly course tannins.
Really tasty stuff. Quite Rioja like which I enjoy. I'll be looking for Temp from this region in the future. — 2 years ago

This was a random bottle from the cellar on normal a Thursday night paired with a simple bowl of Mezzi Rigatoni and Marinara. I know very little about this Biodynamic estate but with Dressner as the importer, it has my attention. It appears to be declassified Chianti Rufina.
Popped and poured; consumed over several hours. In the glass, deep ruby with a translucent core and slightly browning edges, possibly indicating its near 11 years of age. Medium viscosity. On the nose, stewed black berries and black cherries, some VA, old leather bound books and dusty earth with medium+ intensity. On the palate, a rather powerful cherry red rope licorice character dominates accompanied by mushrooms, dried herbs and a bitterness that reminded me of walnuts. Medium tannins which seem completely integrated at this point. The acid seems to be on the higher end of the scale yet, the wine remains fairly balanced since it’s so well endowed with fruit. Medium+ finish.
I gotta say, I’m really digging this wine. It was fun on its own and worked really well with food. If this bottle is an indicator of the estate’s style and quality then I am definitely looking forward to experiencing more. Drinking very well now so no need to hold longer.
