2020 vintage.
90 % Sangiovese, 5 % Canaiolo Nero, 5 % Colorino….this is old school…and it’s good.
Owened by the Mariani Family since 1897 but has been agricultural since 1582.
Berries and cherries with leather and savoury notes with dried herbs.
Medium bodied with crisp tannins and licorice notes.
This wine is very food friendly.
I Veroni has 173 acres with 50 acres planted as vineyards.
They have 4000 olive trees and are certified organic.

Dry and fruity, but not overly so. Nice with spaghetti and meatballs.

Some wild herbs, a touch of balsamic and spiced aromas. Smells a bit hot but not off putting. Low tannin and lots of silky texture/dark red fruit on the attack. Pretty ripe palate. Well integrated soft tannins to finish. Good example of Rufina for just about anyone to enjoy. Would even serve to new world drinkers. €16 in a tourist-ish area. Probably could be had for somewhat less €
