A real vinous sparkling wine. Extra dry. Beautiful pale dress, fine but numerous bubbles. Very expressive nose of peach, pear, candied citrus, brioche, dried fruits, hazelnut, and a saline touch, which extends on a sharp final. With 5 years of aging 2017, offers unity and a beautiful relief. Ideal to accompany a meal. Relevant alternative to Champagnes, especially in terms of its price!
— 4 years ago
2022/6. After the badly oxidized 2005 Tillets, this was a relief and a joy. Beautiful in every way, complex, deeply satisfying, and still retaining youthfulness - a reminder of why I loved Roulot wines and why it’s so sad how they’ve become cult objects. — 4 years ago
Beautiful ruby dress with depth and brilliance. On the nose and in the mouth, cabernet franc is immediately recognized: typical notes of fruits (red and black, strawberry to black cherry), floral herbaceous plants (ronces, rose, violet), and mineral (slate, graphite)... endowed with a beautiful concentration and acidity still lively, it is a cuvée today perfectly in the balance between youth and maturity with some evolved notes (truffle among others) that brings a beautiful taste relief. A bottle with enough body to attack the big meat. Nice q/p ratio.
Beau rapport q/p. — 4 years ago
Major relief after all the CA Pinot fruit bombs....let open awhile — 6 years ago
As expected petrol nose. Time in the decanter did not provide much relief. Some folks would not even taste given the nose. Once you get past the gasoline lots of material. A concentrated wine with tons of citrus fruits . Concentrated and powerful with many years to go. Singular! — 2 years ago
A very good quality/price ratio, beautifully illustrating the wines of Beaujolais as we like: crunchy on youth, with a very interesting development potential for this 2018 vintage, which can be kept and evolve favorably in the pinot-noir bourguignon style for at least 5 or 10 years. The mineral relief compensating for the few tannins extracted.
— 4 years ago
A solid Côte-du-Rhône, in terms of quality/price/pleasure ratio. Dark garnet-violin dress. Complete nose, intense black fruits, menthol, garrigue, mineral notes promising a beautiful relief. In the mouth it is very balanced, supple, fruity, peppery (syrah), licorice and spicy nuances with fruit and minerality. Superb for its price!
— 4 years ago
Raspberry-magenta color, shiny and clear. Intense nose of cherry red fruits, raspberry, currant, lavender flowers, and vanilla aging. In the mouth, the bouquet is superbly balanced, adding toasted-oaky notes that directly refer to the Burgundian style. The aromatic relief is not the same, but the whole is very well designed. Perfectly ready to drink.
— 4 years ago
I’m not focused on sweet liquorous wines, but I had a lot of pleasure with this pretty almost four-year-old bottle. The evolutionary notes add depth and relief to notes evoked by other comments (peach, apricot, bitter orange, honey, nutmeg) a magnificent wine tasting.
— 5 years ago

Black fruit dress, deep. Open nose of plum, Blackberries, and melted breeding of oak barrel. In the mouth, it is supple and deep, smoked, with evolved notes of undergrowth, mushrooms. A classical style wine, structured and melted. Very nice realization. Even if already in place, it can age and gain in relief.
Robe fruits noirs, profonde. — 3 years ago
$33 Medium nose. Notes of honeydew melon, lime peel, peach, hint of baking spice and caramel. Very well balanced. Low alcohol, low tannins and low acid. Medium body. Smooth and buttery. Off-dry. Oak shines through. Notes of pear, apple, starfruit, lemon peel, and lime peel on the tongue. This is a pleasant, well balanced chardonay, with a clean oak finish. The oak is not overpowering, which is a relief considering it's a CA chardonnay. Worth it's price and worth another drink. — 4 years ago
Lemon and lees! Reductive at first and needed time to open up. Not too young which was a relief. High acid with medium body — 4 years ago

What a nice classic Burg of balance, finesse and unassuming power. Medium straw color, blast of white flowered minerals and acids right off the bat and good texture and length. A relief from previous oxidized white burg. Great with Evan’s honey garlic shrimp, Sandeep visit. Held up well in Cali bottles. Last one for Amahs CNY dinner 2/1/22. — 4 years ago

Predictably reductive and tight initially but incredible depth and purity here. Pandemic relief purchase back in 2020 from a restaurant cellar by the unfailingly generous @Steven Perlman — 2 years ago
