Reine Des Fleurs

Domaine de la Mordorée

La Reine des Bois Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2021

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Pretty nose with black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, dark chocolates, light earth, coffee, herbs and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fruit forward and easy drinking. Nicely balanced and interesting. Rich, yet elegant.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already very approachable. The high alcohol is well integrated.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94 point wine.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

A blend of 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 3% Counoise and 2% Vaccarese. Aged in (20% new) large French oak barrels.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

Elegant gold color. Minerality dominates the nose with some cream present. Similar on the palate. Very distinct Matrot bottle. Very good. — 9 months ago

Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Les Fleurs du Lac

White Bordeaux Blend 2020

Fresh cut grass initially, then faint lemon and oily notes, crisp, refreshing, nicely balanced, medium-long finish, could use a little more cellaring, very fine white Bordeaux. — 8 months ago
