Steinriegl Federspiel Riesling 2014

Honestly I’m having a tough time figuring out what I think of this wine. It’s certainly somewhat classic and well made, with the petrol nose, the mouth filling density, the tons of hanging acid on the finish. But for some reason it’s just not all coming together for me. Still nice. — 7 days ago

Klaus Smaragd Riesling 2006

Wonderfully unctuous round oily oldish Riesling. Complex, rich but dry. Hints of petrol and plastic with apple or pear. Special and delicious. — 7 months ago

Loibner Loibenberg Smaragd Riesling 2001

This wine is so intense in its youth but with age has both mellowed out and developed a layered complexity and expansiveness on the palate. I’d give a slight nod to the Prager Klaus from the same year but this is among the greatest Austrian Rieslings I’ve tasted — a year ago

Ried Steinriegl Federspiel Wachau Riesling

Very dry and balanced . Hints of soft citrus and apricots. Nice acidity. Had with Wiener Schnitzel and it was a perfect compliment. — 15 days ago

Aria White Port Chardonnay 2014

Nice white port - not too sweet with an aftertaste that is a little bitter and that sits at the back of the throat and lingers — 5 months ago

Durnsteiner Kaiserberg Riesling 2001

Wow! Wow! Every aspect of this was intense . Lit up your nerve endings, danced on your tongue then 💣. Ageless😱 — 7 months ago

Dinner party, no formal notes.
Finally a good bottle on this, too much bottle variation previously!

The only Riesling from Austria I ever bought. I met Mr. Prager many years ago and was impressed by the wines. He was nice and did an off the cuff tasting while he send another couple away?? In the Wachau irrigation is allowed so for a purist like me I prefer the Riesling which struggles - Nature unlimited -.

This was a very good bottle last night, nice sweet and high acid, petrol notes. I agreed, no irrigation is best.

Selection Weissenkirchen Chardonnay 1999

Very surprising Chardonnay from Austria, not too oak. Went well with beets dish but still not my wine — 7 months ago
