Ried Steinriegl Federspiel Wachau Riesling

Really nice, good value Riesling. Nose has fresh, stony minerals, spritely green herbs, green apple, and the barest hint of petrol. Flavorful and balanced in the mouth. Quite dry, but with nice apple fruitiness. Soft but buoyant acids. Fresh mouthfeel.

Slightly reductive and wants to be decanted. Bruised yellow apple. Rancid citrus. Cheese rind. Botrytis? Iodine. Mineral. Wants age and air. Good, but not great.

So fresh and so clean, clean.

Not much to add to my last note. Unscrew and pour. Solid.

Delicious. Stone fruits and lime. Very fresh and lively. This should she gracefully, but why wait?

Unscrewed 2 nights ago, in the fridge ever since. On the nose: loads of lime, a hint of underripe peach, citrus blossom, wet stone. On the palate: excellent acidity, lime, wet stone, ok density, bitter herbs and slightly clipped finish. Not bad.
