Porte Royale

Henri Bourgeois

La Porte du Caillou Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits with biscuit and floral notes. On the palate flavors of peach, apple and melon with white floral herb notes. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and yeasty notes, lively acidity with slight mineral character. Small production, nice! — a month ago

Domaine Philippe Tessier

La Porte Dorée Cour-Cheverny Romorantin 2020

2020. I believe this is my first Romorantin based wine, so I read through the tasting notes here and was excited to try it. Rich orchard fruit, good acid, and definitely get the oxidized sherry-like notes some mentioned. Paired with snacks while watching the Masters. Not quite their Pimento Cheese Sandwich, but my goat cheese stuffed roasted red peppers and black olives went great with the wine! — 9 months ago

Philipponnat

Royale Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

Blend of Pinot Noir (66%), Chardonnay (35%) and Meunier (3%) Medium gold color. Aromas and flavors of citrus, apple cider, ripe pear, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Touch of oxidation. Large amount of soft mousse and consistent bubbles. Fruit forward and well structured. So light, crisp and refreshing. Cheers to Baby Amelia!!! — a month ago

Joseph Perrier

Cuvée Royale Brut Nature Champagne Blend

While the majority of Joseph Perrier's holding are planted to Pinot Noir, the Cuvée Royale Brut Nature is mostly Chardonnay, making over half of the blend, while the remaining is made with a traditional assemblage of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir (the latter representing just over 10%).

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The “Cuvée Royale” Brut Nature pours a straw color with medium viscosity and a persistent mousse. On the nose, crisp Granny Smith apple, lemon, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry and high acid. Confirming the notes form the nose. The finish is long, zippy, and refreshing. This is a super versatile Brut Zero Champagne that’s a perfect compliment to a light lunch. No disgorgement data.
