Il Falco Red Blend 2015

Fantastic build is almost 9yrs old. Sangratino is the star here…the tannins have rounded, yet the acid and mid-palate weight is perfect. Dark chocolate and raspberry/sweet pomp delight. — 2 years ago

Benjamin Leroux

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2015

This is mighty impressive. Baby Roulot. A worthy buy. Great acid and a suggestion of Burgundian pomp from a regional wine. — 7 years ago

En Croisette Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2013

A baby so this takes some time to get going, but it unfurls into a fantastic Clos VV village Gevry with an hour of air or so. A fantastic value for the quality. If you want to try Burgundy without the fuss and pomp, but all the typicity this is a great example. This should be on all cylinders in 3-5 years. — 10 years ago

Bodegas Ego

Infinito Monastrell Blend 2015

This had all the characteristics you like in a good jumilla without the pomp and circumstance of a fancy bodega. 36/25/20/19 monastrell/cab/Syrah/verdot. Rounded fruit, dash of cocoa powder, plum, and deep red cherry w a touch of white pepper and a really nice wash of tannins. Popped w some slightly spicy food. — 7 years ago

Clos du Val Wine Co.

Carneros Chardonnay 2013

Beautiful pale gold in the glass with thin edges. Pineapples, pears, honey crisp apples, and vanilla on the nose. The aromas don’t try to overpower you with, instead they subtly seduce you. Plush mouthfeel and incredible balance. This is not a stereotypical buttery Chard, nor is it overoaked. There’s oak to be had here but just about the right amount. On the palate, the citrus qualities come to life more but not in an overbearing manner. Lemon, more pears, and melon on the forefront with butterscotch and apple pie on the backend. A little unexpected spice note on the finish takes this baby home. Classic but not austere, a bit of elegance without the pomp. Very nice stuff. — 9 years ago
