See previous notes from 21 weeks ago. The warm 2015 vintage giving more tropical fruit flavours like pineapple. Still vibrant and fresh with medium minus acid. Great to drink now. Can’t see the point of extended cellaring. Looking forward to trying some 2014 Premier Crus from young Benjamin Leroux who is a rising star in Burgundy.

Tasted the red version from 2015 a few nights ago. This is pale to mid Lemon in colour. Citrus peel and a tiny bit of oak on the nose. Light to medium bodied with nice texture and citric acid tension. The majority of this cuvée is drawn from 60 year old vines rooted in a single site in Meursault called Les Millerands (so named because of the small bunches and berries that result in this terroir. ) Les Millerands is on the Puligny side of Meursault. The wine was raised in 12 hectolitre cask for 12 months before spending a few months resting in tank. Not complex - juicy and ready to drink.

A little funky note on the nose - Lees stirring? Raised in 12 Hectolitre casks for 12 months so no overt oak influence preferring vibrancy and freshness from the Chardonnay juice. Medium plus Citric acid. The majority of this cuvée is drawn from 60 year old vines in Meursault. Again, excellent QPR in a Village level Bourgogne Blanc from a rising star in Burgundy.

The 2015 vintage is much like previous ones I’ve tasted. It has such vivacity—so fresh and lively. For me this wine starts with a sense of the sea —full of minerals and salinity which are so natural and refreshing like some deep essence of our bodies that it brings into presence. To this it adds something of the land and the fruits of human cultivation. These are the aromas of alpine flowers and the scent of lemon. Together they create a pleasure born of our ancient sea heritage and our present dwelling place on the land. They bring together in one sip both heaven and earth. Too much for a simple Bourgogne? No, this elemental nature is its magic.

This is actually the Chardonnay not the Pinot Noir. Perfect for an evening off on the porch with cheese and then local pan roasted triggerfish. Lots of citrus and rocks and a touch of struck match which I love 😍

This is mighty impressive. Baby Roulot. A worthy buy. Great acid and a suggestion of Burgundian pomp from a regional wine.

Really nice clean Bourgogne. Still a bit unforgiving; better the second night. Try again in a year.
