Poggio Le Volpe

Versante Nord Uve Bianche Terre Siciliane Minnella Blend 2023

I am always curious to taste more Minnella
This wine is rich and mineral
It would go great with swordfish
Honestly not my style
I find it to horizontal
I prefer a bit more freshness and verticality
Although it is a wine that reveals the territory that comes from

Poggio San Polo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

The 2013 vintage enjoyed Classic cool weather, and the 2013 San Polo reveals what old time Brunellos were like prior to global warming. It is medium bodied, colorful, with persistent fruit and underbrush aromatics; flavorsome, balanced, crisp and energetic with refined tannins. Lovely wine. — 2 months ago

Casone Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2017

Sleeper hit #toscanaigt - typical #sangiovese dark fruit + spicy forest floor character all wrapped up in a high-QPR package. #traderjoes — a month ago

Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Nice but was hoping for a bit more refinement and balance. 15% which comes through only a bit. Still some rusticity. But the overall quality of the fruit is high. Would give it a couple more years at least. — 3 months ago

Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend 2018

2018, opened in 2025. Delicious, golden almost orange hue, fresh fruits and citrus nose, balanced tannins and acidity, Etna crushed stone, juicy and super easily drinkable, yet still complex and interesting. — a month ago

Podere Poggio Scalette

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2021

Love the nose. Deep, sweet/sour cherry, loads of sweet, pungent minerality, meadow flowers. In the mouth it’s still very youthfully vigorous, with a deep initial whack of zingy, pure, concentrated cherry, but then it tightens up as the crisp acids and the sneaky tannins make an entrance. This will improve over the next few years but is really fine now. — a month ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — 3 months ago
