Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2020

Colour is mid Ruby red. Dusty cherries, savoury cherry pip, a touch of menthol. Thought there were hints of caramel oak but I note it was fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature. Malo in vats of cement, stainless steel and wood (large bottis I would imagine).Good structure for a Rosso - silky tannins. Very enjoyable and a great match with Fettuccine. Drank another bottle 16 weeks later on 1st December 2022 with consistent notes. Drank another bottle on 30th May 2023 - Sweet Cherry , medium weight, more savoury than fruit driven. Also notes of fennel and menthol - tannins M plus but the wine Is young. Drinks as a Rosso, nothing more. — 2 years ago

Mendocino County Carignane Rosé 2021

Always a great wine. I can’t believe I’ve never added it. I think I’ve always poured for parties or at the pool. Great acidity, great fruit, great with all foods. Enough backbone to stick up to meaty bbq but delicate enough to go with ceviche. Highly recommend. — 7 months ago
