Mary BD 11/19/21 with suckling pig. Opened at the end. Terrific Barolo with all the classic varietal profile. Pleasure to drink though didn’t quite match the Brunello in pairing the pig. Last one and winery defunct. — 5 years ago

81% Cabernet Sauvignon; 14% Merlot; and 5% Petit Verdot. Blackberry and black plum fruit, with notes of pencil shavings, graphite, licorice, violets and cocoa. Silky wine. — 5 years ago

This and the Allemand Cornas were 1 and 1A last night at the Berry poolside pig roast. Fully mature and not as tannic as many La La’s I’ve had. This strutted from the pop. Roast venison, black olive, menthol, sage and an undercurrent of bright red fruit to compliment the darker components. In a very very good place. — 8 years ago

Big Pig Shiraz, 2014
WOW!! This is a phenomenal drop! Silky and sexy, lush berries and sweetly spiced with liquorice and vanilla. Absolute perfection, I think this just may be the best wine I've ever tasted, and that's saying something. 10/10 — 5 years ago
