This is a combo of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Softer than just PB alone. Lovely! — 3 years ago
64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot from Rasa Vineyards from Columbia Valley, Washington. Long finish. Very good. — 4 years ago
When cold, the mid palate seems lacking, great aromatics and very much variety specific. As it opens up, much more phenolic texture and sanity drive the finish. An interesting PB. — 6 years ago
$24 Nice balance between tannins and fruit, a little zing from alcohol at 14.5% so it’s a feel good wine — 7 years ago
Gift from Brenna, who bought it in India! — 7 years ago
A luscious combination of beautiful dark fruit combined wirh a bit of funk and tobacco. A smooth mineral mouthfeel with a bit if spice on the finish. Very nice. Wish I’d bought more of this 100% Mouvedre. — 8 years ago
Poured into a decanter about couple of hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2009 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe and desiccated dark fruits: currants, brambles, tobacco, espresso, cocoa, leather and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and quite rich. I’ve always found the fruit from Rasa wines to be luscious and this was no exception. Drink now through 2029. — a year ago
This is the 6th edition of the Founder’s Reserve series. Popped and poured; consumed over four days. Best on day 4. Remarkable aromas of macerated blackberries, cherry compote, a touch of blue fruits, anise, tobacco leaf, fresh green herbs, baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium(+?) acid. Long and delicious with great minerals on the finish. My last bottle from a case and while this should drink very nicely through 2030, it’s already drinking so well right now. — 3 years ago
The third and latest release of the Founder’s Reserve follows the tradition of the previous versions; a Bordeaux blend of sorts with a dollop of Syrah. Popped and poured; consumed over four days. The wine came across disjointed on Day 1 & 2. By day 3 it started to turn into something more interesting and Day 4 was best. Mostly blue and black fruits with dark cherries and figs, pipe tobacco, minerals, baking spices, a small touch of vanilla. Medium tannin. Medium plus acid. Finish is satisfying. A touch of heat on the finish but just. These need a few years to show their best. — 5 years ago
Open for about 5 hours, no decant... Masculine nose, yet pretty at the same time. Tobacco, plum, cassis, leather, dark chocolate, and espresso. Beautiful balance, with perfectly ripe, farmers market plum and blackberry. Layers of mocha and tobacco carry throughout. Tannins are integrated and show restraint. There is a creamy, milky chocolate midpalate which transitions to a rich, yet still ripe, dark fruit finish. Green pepper creeps through on the backend. Deep core of fruit, but don’t be misled this could easily pass for right bank, think Saint Estephe. Paired perfectly with cold smoked New York strip steak.. wish I had more of this one, drink or hold. 43% Cab Sav, 37% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc — 6 years ago
Still drinking nice, glad we kept the second bottle for longer. Lots of fruit left on it still. Lovely. — 7 years ago
Incredibly purity of fruit with balance — 9 years ago
Nose: sweet peach, overripe cantaloupe, vanilla. Palate: pineapple custard, caramel. Moderate complexity, good intensity, good finish if a bit hot. Excellent pairing with butter, maple syrup, rosemary roasted chicken. — 2 years ago

This stunning Grenache was sourced from Monette's Vineyard in the Walla Walla Rocks region. Prior to bottling the wine was left on the lees for 18 months in neutral French oak barriques. This wine begins with aromatics of rose petals, white flowers, Mandarin orange rind and potpourri. This leads to flavors of red cherry, strawberry, orange zest and strawberry jam. This is pretty, downright sexy wine and absolutely irresistible at this juncture. While less acid-driven than the ’14 bottling, this outstanding wine is just as good and even more impossible to put down as the gorgeous aromatic and flavor range shines through. Only 103 cases made of this absolutely stunning Grenache, which is one of the best of its kind in Washington state. Drink 2019-2029- 95 — 7 years ago
A delicious Syrah with intense fruit and funk and a bit of spice. Needed a bit of time to open up, but when it did it was unbelievably good. — 9 years ago
