64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot from Rasa Vineyards from Columbia Valley, Washington. Long finish. Very good. — a year ago
Nose: sweet peach, overripe cantaloupe, vanilla. Palate: pineapple custard, caramel. Moderate complexity, good intensity, good finish if a bit hot. Excellent pairing with butter, maple syrup, rosemary roasted chicken. — a month ago
This is a combo of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Softer than just PB alone. Lovely! — 7 months ago
When cold, the mid palate seems lacking, great aromatics and very much variety specific. As it opens up, much more phenolic texture and sanity drive the finish. An interesting PB. — 3 years ago
Smooth and not much tannin. Complex but light at the same time. Delicious with all our Italian meals. — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days and consistent throughout. The Founders Reserve VII is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 52%, Syrah 35%, Merlot 8%, and Cabernet Franc 5% from a half dozen vineyard sources: StoneTree, Firethorn, DuBrul, Kiona, Weinbau, and Rasa’s estate vineyard in The Rocks District. The quality of the sources is obvious. The wine pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core. Medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. No signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with black currants, brambles, blueberries, lavender, stoney minerals, some vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the tannins are grippy. Another solid edition of the Founder’s series. Definitely on the young side but drinking well now and I expect it will do so through 2030 with relative ease.

Popped and poured; consumed over the course of an hour with friends. The Founder’s Reserve “V” is the 5th edition of the series. It pours a deep, ruby color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose the wine is developing with notes of black, red and blue fruits: blackberries, cherries, and blueberries with purple flowers, tobacco, black pepper and baking spices. On the palate, wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A lovely quaffer and outstanding value. Drink now and through 2030+. My last bottle of the "V" and it was a great pairing with brisket. — 3 days ago
