Youthful, high acid with dark cherry, berry fruit — 9 months ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Better than I remember my last btl being. On the nose: musty mulberry, vanilla, spice, rose. On the palate: good acidity, lovely density and weight...black pepper, mulberry and blackberry. Soft, finely grained tannin on the finish. Yum. — 5 years ago

Short Rib wine. 👍🏼
Winery notes,
Unique circumstances helped create the monumentally impressive 2013 Le Petit Vice. Proprietor Patrice Breton worked with Paul Hobbs and Mike Smith in the beginning, and finished the wine with the help of Philippe Melka, and Shawn Johnson… Four of Napa Valley’s most accomplished winemakers.

2-3 minute sear on each side at 500-550. Perfect 👌

Prime cut makes a difference. Not a chew fest like supermarket meat.Dominant green apple flavor, almost cidery, but there’s good depth of flavor, including melon and citrus. Also honeysuckle and a hint of spice, all supported by a nice backbone of mouth watering acidity. — 6 years ago

My favorite sparking ever! Pure minerals and super dry. — 5 years ago
Made a butternut squash/burrata/kale/sage/pumpkin seed/fig pizza last night and combined the leftover slice to a pie of Motorino’s I got from Saltwater’s (my coffeeshop) neighbor in the East Village. I’ve been going to Motorino’s since 2012 and it’s one of my favorite Neapolitan pies in the city.
Sharp as a sporty, citrus cologne of vetiver, pine, and sage. Lemon peel and grapefruit mist. Really love this unusually fresh and zippy bouquet.
It’s got the freshness of a Chablis and the citrus and melon notes of Sauvignon Blanc. Love the high tone acidity here — it just works. It doesn’t try to belabor itself with subtlety, just announcing straight up, this is who I am. Grapefruit, melon, lemon rind, sage, and even some of the juicy unctuous qualities that ripe blackberries can have.

Wow. First whiff was so pleasant and mildly sweet. Fist sip was gentle but thankfully NOT too sweet. Very pleasant — 6 years ago

Pre-season Patriots football and Pineau d’Aunis: a winning combination. This wine has lots of character. Nose is intense, peppery, lots of crunchy dark berries and pulverized rock dust. Vigorous in the mouth, with a very youthful feel and some chalky, fine-grained tannin puckering the palate. Really nice now and could soften up nicely over the next couple of years. — 5 years ago
Such beautiful burgundy, so awesome! — 5 years ago
Nose has metallic blackberry, white pepper, ripe plum, prune and baking spices.
Palate has tart plum, dried blackberry, white pepper on mashed black cherries and potting soil. Medium body, light minerality, medium finish. Nice wine, young, could really benefit from a few years of proper resting.
60% Pineau d’Aunis / 30% Pinot Noir / 10% Cabernet Franc
A solid pairing with local (Jacüterie/Hudson Valley, NY) British Bangers on the grill tonight, peppery wine with well spiced, fresh sausage, yum! — 6 years ago
I love me some Vice Versa. The only thing better than the wine might be the people! Samantha and Patrice are amazing people, and Maayan and team Atelier Melka need no introductions. I am so happy to watch them succeed. Having purchased an estate property last year, we can’t wait to visit them in the future. Ok, back to the wine. While “im”patiently awaiting my single vineyard designates to age I am enjoying two of their lines, Le Petit Vice and the Napa Valley blend. While I prefer the 15s and 16s to the 17, the Napa Valley blend never fails to impress. More tasting notes next time. — 6 years ago
Nose has white pepper, spruce needles, cedar shavings, fresh cherry and mashed black currant.
Palate has pepper dusted mashed cherry, tart blueberry, black cherry, (light) limestone dust and (light) new oak. Medium levels of acidity/tannin help this wine to be very soft and enjoyable.

I've never had sparkling gamay (this isn't a blend). Lots of fizz! Cranberry, candy, and rambutan! Bone dry.
