A top year 96 Rioja that @ £45 is a superb buy for what would normally cost 2-3x more 👍

Was a dumbo and didn't realize I had bought Sherry?
Very light golden yellow. Smells of candied nuts but tastes of proscuitto a little bit (salty). — 12 days ago
The literal opposite of the Rocks & Gravel Rhone blend which we had prior, thank god, otherwise would have been dwarfed by this rich beauty. Needs air to settle into a dark inked, vanilla latte of red & black currants, tobacco leaf. A rich vintage, it seems, a bit over-the top given this Producer but still uber enjoyable — 5 days ago
Terra Alta has proven one of my favorite regions for white wine that nearly nobody knows about. Lafou makes one of the best - a Garnatxa Blanca of length and texture. Sweaty and mineral, the wine offers precise, clean flavors or green olive skin, almond dust, lemon pith, and Thai basil - corrupted further with tones of petrol, dried wax, rind, and salinity. What a wine. — 3 days ago
This past Saturday evening with good friends we opened the 2005 La Rioja Alta Viña Arana Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend.
On the nose there was black cherry, blackberry, red currant, floral notes, fig, leather, a touch of vanilla and dried soil.
On the palate the cherry came through in a big way, with blackberry, red currant, blood orange, herbal notes, clove, licorice and dusty earth.
This wine is silky smooth medium to plus bodied with medium + acidity and medium + grippy tannins that lead to a long spicy finish. Another very enjoyable wine. Be safe and start your weekend off right. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 days ago
Another stunner from the Terra Alta Do, Edetària yields an untethered expression of Garnatxa Blanca. Animale, cantaloupe peel, and dried pear pave way to apollenous, expansive mid-palate that's rustic and refined at once. A pleasant tahini-like bitterness adds complexity to the finish. — 3 days ago
tropical fruits, pinneaple, green apples, pears, quince, good acidity and texture — 3 days ago
Smooth with a little bite. Slightly fizzy at first. Fruity with pineapple flavors. Like a light sav blanc — a day ago
