This wine is medium-dark ruby in the glass. I found the nose to be subdued, but notes of ripe cherries and redcurrant berries came through. I’d like to say that I noticed the effect of the chestnut barrels used, but they were half as large as the oak casks. My olfactory sense isn’t all that sharp, anyway. The palate is medium weight and a bit tart, showing raspberry and currant flavors. The tannins are medium firm and the acidity is bright. The medium finish carries tart fruit after the sip. — 4 months ago
Initially tasted like Chardonnay then evolved with an hour of air and warming. Still rich and big fruit initially but the a waxy and acidic finish. It’s very unique and I like it. Not a crowd pleaser but one to contemplate. — a year ago
A fab Cabernet from Napa with excellent QPR. Old school 12.8% ABV lets the fruit come through. First time with this producer, I can see why gaining a following with CT score at 93. BD17 acquisition. I know, it’s a 2023 but I wanted to try it fresh, will lay down my other bottled for prob another 3-5 years. — a month ago
